Abstract

The file discusses the review of a study on depressive symptoms among women with PCOS, comparing those with and without obesity. The main issues identified were the inappropriate initial sample-size calculation, unclear BMI and PCOS diagnostic criteria, incorrect interpretation of the CES-D ≥16 threshold as depression rather than a screening indicator, several citation and reference mismatches, insufficient reporting of ethical approval and informed consent, inconsistent use of “girls,” “adolescents,” and “women,” and unclear information about the source of CES-D data. The manuscript was subsequently revised to clarify the sample-size calculation, Rotterdam PCOS criteria, BMI cut-offs, CES-D interpretation, ethical approval, and data collection procedures; however, the age/population inconsistency and citation/reference accuracy remain important points to check.
